Break

Haven’t you experienced days when you just want to lie back on a comfy sofa, in a cool room, under a light blanket surrounded by a good book, your laptop and mobile with soft old and new songs playing in the background, and a serene beautiful scene of the whole city visible from your window?

Got a shock, because this is possible only when you have no worries when you have reached a point in life where you just want to and can relax. Although as soon as I imagine this scene it is mostly followed by a, “Nah, I won’t be able to lay there for more than 30 minutes, at best.” We are too busy and active these days that we can’t fathom sitting still for a long time, the world too is fast these days and if you don’t buck up, well buddy you gonna be left behind.

imagesWe are always on a constant lookout for a new challenge, the next adventure, of reaching a certain point, peak or height, that we forget to enjoy the journey of reaching there, the rest and basking in the joy of a work well done. It’s good that we should always be on the lookout for new challenges and adventure instead of being lazy bones. But don’t we need to take a break now and then to replenish our supplies, take a breather so that we can be more creative. Because as it is said

“There is a virtue in work and there is a virtue in rest. Use both and overlook neither. ”

-Alan Cohen

or

“Your calm mind is the ultimate weapon against your challenges. So relax”

-Bryant McGill

Or maybe it’s just my tired college mind, wishing for a nice vacation and some excitement. Because seriously after some time the monotony of assignments, classes and talking to same people gets boring. So maybe you can share with me your thoughts and tell me what do you guys think.
